If you are like most people, you can’t make it through the day without snacking. But you can't keep blowing your weight loss endeavors by eating cookies and chips between meals. Snacking is not bad for you; it is only unhealthy snacks that are bad. Don't fight your love for snacks, just replace them with healthier alternatives that will enable you to enjoy your habit and still eat healthy.
Most weightloss experts agree that eating five to six small meals a day is more beneficial to your weight loss efforts than three regular (large) meals. You can achieve substantial weight loss by consuming healthy snacks in-between your regular meals. The Family Friendly Healthy Snacks Recipes contains low fat and low calorie snacks that will help to keep you feeling full and also provide your body with vital nutrients in-between meals. Some of them are really delicious too!
Healthy snacking helps you to avoid mid-morning or mid-afternoon tiredness by keeping up your energy levels throughout the day. Your body will be provided with needed nutrients, your immunity level will be higher, you will have higher metabolism and will be able to maintain a healthy weight. These recipes will help you to plan your snacks ahead of time so that you can avoid making unhealthy choices.

Now I admit I haven't had kids in my household in a while [and I consider kids a BIG part of a family-friendly concept], but I don't EVER recall offering cabbage or potato salad to my boys as a snack. I just don't think it would have worked. This cookbook is about half salads, and while there are some fruit salad recipes that could pass as snacks, I'm thinking maybe not so much on rice salad. HOWEVER the book also has some very good recipes for smoothies and dips, and those are my kids' idea of snacks. The pumpkin smoothie is a winner [get some beta carotene into those little chuggers!], as is the peanut butter dip [apple slices or carrot/celery sticks for dippers]. There are other smoothie recipes that can sneak some veggies and protein into nutrition-resistant kids, especially if you can come up with some kind of funky name for the food. If you have picky eaters, this might be a cookbook worth buying!Product details
